Residential / Shaffer Plaza

Shaffer Plaza consists of three, eleven bed intermediate care facilities that provide:

• Twenty Four hour staffing
• Daily, off grounds activities which help enhance self esteem through socialization and recreation
• Individualized program planning and provision of services by qualified staff members

Supportive Living

The supportive living department assists individuals, their guuardians, and families in determining and developmenting their residential needs and services. Their services can be provided in the individuals family home or in the community. Current options available include supportive living, individual options waivers, and residential facilities.

Eligibility for Shaffer Plaza Services

If you have a family member with develpmental disabilities living at home, he or she may be eligible. The family member with disabilities MUST be eligible for county developmental disability services, and should be placed on the waiting list for residential services through the Programs Service Coordination Department.

Eligibility is determined by the level of care that the individual needs, the availability of beds, and by the decision of a broad spectrum of professionals.
